escalators can be dangerous things, can’t they? I hope your friend can get over her phobia one day. It’s weird to realize what a crutch something like that could be.

Just like Karen, my mom always told me to be quick and pay attention on the escalator. And to never, ever sit down! One of her friend’s kids sat down and didn’t get up in time and got his bottom pinched! Ouch!

I don’t have a phobia of escalators but am always a little uncomfortable stepping up on one- might be partly b/c I’m only five feet tall- or partly b/c every trip to the mall when I was little my mom told me I’d get my pants caught and I’d be sucked into the stairs if I didn’t get off quickly enough.
